An entry is the targeted archiving of information. The archiving itself takes place in registers, files, card files, databases, books, etc. Entries can be called up (database retrieval) or viewed (file inspection). The removal of an entry is the deletion (deletion from the commercial register). Examples: Personal entries are usually made in a notebook, diary, blog, etc. whereby the person entering records his thoughts and experiences. These entries reflect information from a person. Person-related entries in a file are made by the person responsible for the file and provide information about the person. Article in a lexicon or encyclopedia Dictionary entry, smallest independent unit of a dictionary.
